Darkness Falls in the Western World..Part 2

Speaking of the American War of Independence, George Washington wrote in 1778 that, “the hand of Providence has been so conspicuous in all of this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.”1 [emphasis added]

George Washington led the Continental Armies – a group of ragtag colonialists against an experienced and better equipped British force. Washington was on the field of battle, watching the movements of forces and the clash of his armies against the superior power of the British empire. He knew that America was not raised by chance; it was raised by the hand of God.


But Washington’s warnings against infidelity and his reminder to be thankful for God’s blessings, which come with commensurate obligations, are no more fashionable in modern America than they were in the days of ancient Israel. Today, atheism and a godless evolutionism pervade public discourse. So-called science, such as that which imposed lockdowns, useless mask wearing, and the deadly Covid “vaccines”, has been elevated to the status of god. Ancient Israel worshipped the idols of other nations, and modern America worships licentious Hollywood, Anthony “I am science” Fauci, and Charles Darwin. The warnings of the Bible, and the themes of repentance and redemption, are thought irrelevant and antiquated, and it is not difficult to show that Washington’s warnings are almost entirely forgotten by this generation.


What will be the result?


God Himself warned the nation of Israel through Moses, down through Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Micah and Habakkuk, and the other prophets about the coming destruction. Those stern warnings were disregarded until the ten northern tribes were finally destroyed by the nation of Assyria, and Judah and its capital city of Jerusalem was repeatedly destroyed as well, first by the Babylonians, and later, some decades after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ the Messiah, again by the Romans.


Christ warned Israel, “your house is left to you desolate.” Matthew 23:38. When Christ stood before Pilate, and Pilate asked the Jewish leaders who he should release, they desired the release of Barabbas, a robber and a murderer. When Pilate asked them what he should do with their King, Christ, they shouted, “we have no king but Caesar.”


It is not a new idea to connect American prosperity and success with faithfulness to God, any more than it is a new idea to connect ancient Israel’s apostasy with ancient Israel’s destruction. When Benjamin Franklin called the Constitutional Convention to prayer in the summer of 1787, he noted, "God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings that “except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it” (Psalm 127:1). I firmly believe this, and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel.”2  The tower of Babel was destroyed for faithless disobedience to the Creator God of the Universe. Lest any miss his point, Franklin is clearly warning America that its end will be the same if it loses the blessings and protections of heaven.


We live in a deteriorating and degenerate age. Violence, witchcraft and perversion of every sort is available at the tap of a smart phone button. False science mutilates children to supposedly change their biology. Millions of babies are killed for selfishness and convenience. Selfishness, narcissism, immorality and deceit are glorified by our entertainment industries. Atheism and relativism are taught as dogma in schools.


Watchful observers know that, like Rome, the western world is rotting at the core. Immoral. Decadent. Selfish. Effeminate. The question is asked – how can we stem the tide? How can we return to God, regain His favor, and forestall the looming judgments?


So-called “Christian nationalism” claims the solution to the widespread apostasy of America and the western world is for “Christians” to seize control of government and compel all people to abide by what it asserts is Christianity. This group hates the tyranny (and it is tyranny, make no mistake) of the woke progressive left and its ideological control of government, but it proposes to address leftist tyranny by imposing its own brand of Christian Nationalist tyranny.


The church and state combination of the woke left/government is an image to the church/state papacy. And Christian Nationalism, if it ever succeeded in controlling the government and imposing “Christianity” would be just as papal. How do you think the Inquisition started? For what purpose was it formed? It was formed to compel the conscience. There is no meaningful difference between the persecution of the Inquisition and the persecution of the left-over transgenderism or climate change. And there would be no meaningful difference between the Inquisition and a state controlled by Christian Nationalism.


Ideological control by the state, either as controlled by the left or the right, is nothing but the establishment of an orthodoxy and the punishment of any resultant “heretics”. If you disagree with the climate change farce, you are a heretic to the globalist tyrants. But if you disagree with the Christian Nationalists, who would compel the conscience on some other issue, you are a heretic to the Christian Nationalist tyrants. And either side would be perfectly happy to burn you at the stake.


So what is the solution?


The masses of the American colonies were from many different lands but were connected by the innate longing for temporal and religious liberty, and a desire to escape the heavy persecutorial hand of authoritarian kings and popes which had held sway over them and their ancestors for centuries. In modern parlance, they fled from state compulsion, and they would have fled from the child-confiscating mutilation of the left, as much as they fled from papists attempting to compel them to worship Mary.


There were many men in the time of Samson, but Samson was unique above all. What set bold Samson apart and made him different than all the other men of his age? How was it that he was equipped to stand alone, and to make war on the enemies of Israel?


We are told that Samson was called to be a leader and a liberator of the oppressed people of Israel. Consecrated to God from his birth, and sworn to uphold the principles of heaven, Samson was set apart from the “womb to the day of his death” – Judges 13:7.1


Just as there were many men in the time of Samson, there are many countries on the face of the earth. But America was called in its infancy to stand apart, to lift the banner of liberty of conscience for the oppressed masses of the world.


As Samson had a covenant with God which could not be broken without the loss of God’s special blessings, so America has a covenant with God, the breaking of which will not only result in the loss of the blessings of Providence but will results in the swift retribution of heaven against the nation, as it did in the days of old against apostate Israel.


What is the nature and content of this covenant?


Let us trace the terms of the representations by the Founders of America in the Declaration of Independence:

In Congress, July 4, 1776 We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.


All rights come from the Creator, not from the state. Governments do not make rights, they can only recognize a right or trample on a right.  The secret of America’s success is that it safeguards the liberty of conscience of the Creator’s children, either from tyrants on the left (the current crop of tyrants), or any would-be tyrants on the right. The secret of America’s success is that it safeguards against human tyrants and protects inalienable rights.


If it forsakes this immutable principle, America will become nothing more than every other antagonistic and authoritarian human regime on the face of the earth, but with all the benefits that its forsaken Protestantism has bestowed.

In times of persecution and danger, anonymity has long been the necessary cloak for the truth. Speaking of the oppression under which the truth labored as the Revolutionary War approached, the eventual second president of the United States, John Adams, anonymously stated the following in the Boston Gazette in 1765: Every body knows how dangerous it was to speak or write in favour of any thing in those days but the triumphant system of religion and politicks. And our fathers were particularly the objects of the persecutions and proscriptions of the times. It is not unlikely therefore, that, although they were inflexibly steady in refusing their positive assent to any thing against their principles, they might have contracted habits of reserve, and a cautious diffidence of asserting their opinions publickly. These habits they probably brought with them to America, and have transmitted down to us. i Adams was saying that the pilgrims who fled Europe passed down a knowledge of the dangers which public opinions could bring from kings and priests. The Papacy was hostile to not only religious freedom, but to freedom of thought, speech and the press. English monarchs, both Catholic and Anglican, had harshly punished dissenting views. The “fathers” Adams references are those who suffered for their faith and opinions in the public square, even to the point of martyrdom. They had consequently learned to be careful when expressing their views publicly, especially on the “triumphant system of religion and politicks”. Today, many so-called Christians loudly (and often arrogantly) demand that church and state once more come together in America and enforce their version of Christianity on the population by force of law. ii But of course such a system will result in the same oppression and punishment of dissent as it has in the past. Politicians and advocates of church/state union in America might be surprised to hear the second president of the United States speak with such ardor against their cause. But John Adams denounced the union of church and state as “tyrannical” and “wicked”. Hear this father of American independence in his own words: Since the promulgation of Christianity, the two greatest systems of tyranny that have sprung from this original, are the canon and the feudal law … By the former of these, the most refined, sublime, extensive, and astonishing constitution of policy that ever was conceived by the mind of man was framed by the Romish clergy for the aggrandizement of their own order. All the epithets I have here given to the Romish policy are just, and will be allowed to be so when it is considered, that they even persuaded mankind to believe,faithfully and undoubtingly, that God Almighty had entrusted them with the keys of heaven, whose gates they might open and close at pleasure; with a power of dispensation over all the rules and obligations of morality; with authority to license all sorts of sins and crimes; with a power of deposing princes and absolving subjects from allegiance; with a power of procuring or withholding the rain of heaven and the beams of the sun; with the management of earthquakes, pestilence, and famine; nay, with the mysterious, awful, incomprehensible power of creating out of bread and wine the flesh and blood of God himself. All these opinions they were enabled to spread and rivet among the people by reducing their minds to a state of sordid ignorance and staring timidity, and by infusing into them a religious horror of letters and knowledge. Thus was human nature chained fast for ages in a cruel, shameful, and deplorable servitude to him, and his subordinate tyrants, who, it was foretold, would exalt himself above all that was called God, and that was worshiped. In the latter we find another system, similar in many respects to the former; which, although it was originally formed, perhaps, for the necessary defense of a barbarous people against the inroads and invasions of her neighboring nations, yet for the same purposes of tyranny, cruelty, and lust, which had dictated the canon law, it was soon adopted by almost all the princes of Europe, and wrought into the constitutions of their government. It was originally a code of laws for a vast army in a perpetual encampment. The general was invested with the sovereign propriety of all the lands within the territory. Of him, as his servants and vassals, the first rank of his great officers held the lands; and in the same manner the other subordinate officers held of them; and all ranks and degrees held their lands by a variety of duties and services, all tending to bind the chains the faster on every order of mankind. In this manner the common people were held together in herds and clans in a state of servile dependence on their lords, bound, even by the tenure of their lands, to follow them, whenever they commanded, to their wars, and in a state of total ignorance of every thing divine and human, excepting the use of arms and the culture of their lands. But another event still more calamitous to human liberty, was a wicked confederacy between the two systems of tyranny above described. i You likely were unaware that Founding Father John Adams spoke so strongly against a union of church and state. And you will not likely hear his views repeated by most modern conservative thinkers or politicians. You will not hear them from the Opus Dei-linked Heritage Foundation, which authored Project 2025, or from Harvard scholar and Catholic Integralist Adrian Vermeule, who openly advocates that the Catholic Church should control the U.S. government. i You will not hear of John Adams treatise on canon and feudal law from adherents of the New Apostolic Reformation, who believe they have a mandate from Christ to control every major aspect of society. ii All these would prefer John Adams be buried in the dustbin of history because he speaks contrary to church/state ambitions. In denouncing canon law, John Adams condemned the Roman Papacy as an engine of superstition and oppression, designed to imprison the minds of the populace in “a state of sordid ignorance and staring timidity”. In denouncing feudal law, he condemned that system of nobles and lords who owned the land, while all the common people were required to serve them, supposedly in exchange for protection. Medieval feudal law finds its echo in the policies of the World Economic Forum. The oft-repeated claim that “you will own nothing and be happy” is in fact nothing less than a call to return to serfdom. The devil, prince of this world, tempted our Savior in the wilderness with the allure of earthly power – the same earthly power that many Christians covet today. Satan took Christ up into an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them and said unto Him, “all these things will I give thee if Thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Jesus replied, “get thee hence, Satan” – see Matthew 4:8-10. It is the antichrist of the Scriptures, that man of sin, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalt himself above all that is called God, who desires temporal power. As soon as he had it he turned persecutor. As soon as modern Christians have civil power, they also will turn persecutor. This has been proven time and again in history, as will be discussed in the next article. In denouncing both canon and feudal law combined, John Adams condemned the unconstitutional aims of a growing and ambitious group of modern Christians who intend to make their “Christianity” the law of the land for the common good of society. The heart of humanity has not changed. Such a system was a curse in the time of the Inquisition, and it would be a curse in our day should it be recreated.
